Y(II) meter

The Y(II) meter was designed to provide an inexpensive way to measure the fast light adapted Y(II) or ΔF/FM’ protocol and to make it available to more people that need it.
Opti-Sciences developed a system that does not require expensive fiber optics, but still follows the proven methods needed for reliable plant stress measurement. Y(II) is measured from the top of the leaf along with PAR or photosynthetically active radiation. Furthermore, leaf temperature is measured from the bottom over a large area, allowing a more reliable value.
Measures the light adapted Y(II) protocol with an FM’ correction option, PAR, ETR, Leaf temp, & Leaf absorptance.

FV/FM meter
Modulated fluorometer measures FV/FM
FV/FM meter was designed to offer an inexpensive companion instrument to the Y(II) meter to allow measurement of the dark adaptated FV/FM protocol.

Y(II) Meter Specifications:
Fast measurements:
Y(II) or ΔF/FM’ with the option for FM’ correction according to Loriaux 2013 included. ETR, PAR, leaf temperature, relative humidity, leaf absorptance, FS, FM’ and FT.
Monitor mode:
Measures the same sample for months at a time, using a USB battery pack or mains current. The monitor is designed for growth chamber, or laboratory work but not field work. The instrument can be programmed to measure at different intervals during light and dark periods. The monitor mode allows measurement of Y(II) or ΔF/FM’, ETR, PAR, leaf temperature, relative humidity and leaf absorptance. From the dark period data, FV/FM, NPQ, Y(NPQ), and Y(NO) can be calculated.

Ambient light only at steady state photosynthesis.

White LED saturation flash to 7,000 μmoles.
Choice of red modulated light source (660nm with 690nm cut off filter), or blue modulated light source (450nm) at time of purchase.
